Bio:

Tony Hanson began his career at age 13 learning drums from teacher/mentor, Bob Steel. At age 18 Tony founded Fenix Recording & Rehearsal Studios, (www.fenixstudios.com) located at 4442 Arthur Kill Road, as well as his video game rock band Fenix Down. (www.fenixdown.com).

In May 2000, Tony’s musical path led him to join the teaching staff at Castellano’s House of Music  There he teaches drums, guitar, piano, bass, singing as well as preparing students for musical performance at the school’s annual musical recitals.  Through the years, Tony, Fenix Studios’ owner, and House of Music Owner, John Castellano, teamed up to offer a variety of services and tools to assist the ever growing student roster such as rehearsal space for music recitals for the hard working staff & students at House of Music as well as creating the highly regarded Band Program & Summer Rock Camp in 2009.  It is within these programs that students learn team work, songwriting, performance, and responsibility, values that both Castellano’s and Fenix hold to be key in proper musical education.  In 2009, Tony also founded The Fenix Cup, a café/lounge where the students perform thoughout the year.

Tony has been featured on FUSE TV, FOX, NFL, & ESPN, winning awards from Billboard Music, MakeAStar, & Fuse TV.  He has recently scored music for animations such as REDZEE & Witch Kids as well as other regional and national commercials.  He continues to perform throughout the tri-state area with his band Fenix Down, who also boasts an impressive list of awards to be found on their website.
